How to use Horizons Foundry: from prompt to print

A walkthrough for first-time visitors. About 5 minutes from idea to ordered print.

If you're reading this, you're probably thinking about what to put on a wall in your home. Maybe you've been staring at the same blank space for months. Maybe the art you already have just doesn't fit the room anymore. Either way, this post walks through the whole flow, from signing in to receiving a framed print at your door.

The aim is simple: you should know what you're getting into before you sign in. No surprises.

The Studio in action — prompt to print in seconds.

Step 1 · Sign in

Sign in with Google. There's no separate password to create, and no email verification step. New accounts start with 25 free image credits, enough to explore plenty of ideas before paying anything.

Each generation uses one credit. Your free credits top up to 5 at the start of each calendar month, and unused credits never expire. When you need more, packs of 50 credits are $5 and stack on top of your free balance.

Step 2 · Describe what you want

This is where you tell the AI what you want on your wall. You're not picking from a stock library. You're describing something nobody has made yet, and the AI will generate it.

A few tips for getting good results:

  • Be specific about subject, style, and mood. "A misty mountain at dawn, watercolor style, soft pastels" will outperform "a mountain" every time.
  • Reference art styles you like — impressionist, art deco, ukiyo-e, mid-century, whatever you can name. The model knows most of them.
  • Don't worry about getting it right on the first try. Iteration is the point. Two or three attempts is normal.

Step 3 · Iterate

The first generation rarely nails it. Plan to try 2–4 prompts before you commit. The trick: tweak words, not whole prompts. Change one thing at a time and see what shifts. "Make the sky warmer." "Add more contrast." "Same scene at sunset instead of dawn."

Every image you generate stays in your creations history at the right side of the studio. You can come back to any of them later, even in a different session.

Step 4 · Choose your size and frame

Once you have the image you want, pick how it gets made.

A rough sizing guide:

  • Above a couch or headboard: 28×40"
  • Hallway or smaller wall: 12×16" or 16×20"
  • Part of a gallery wall: mix of 12×16" and 18×24"

Framing:

  • Unframed: cheaper, easier to swap, no glass.
  • Framed: real wood, ready to hang out of the box.

The preview on the canvas shows the final dimensions and how the framing will look.

Step 5 · Order and wait

Checkout is standard — Stripe handles the payment. Then your print gets routed to the Gelato facility nearest your shipping address.

  • Delivery: 5–9 business days. We currently ship within the United States only.
  • Tracking: emailed to you when the print ships.

That's the whole flow

Each print is custom-made, so all sales are final by default — but if your print arrives damaged in transit, has a print quality defect, or differs significantly from the image you approved at checkout, we'll reprint it or refund the full purchase price within 30 days. Email us with photos. We pay return shipping. See the full refund policy for the fine print.
